Hypnosis is a natural state of mind that has solid scientific foundations and has been practiced by man since the dawn of time, especially in the form of self-hypnosis. You enter a conscious but not alert state, the person observed from outside seems to \"be there without being there\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This unleashes the collective imagination, so much so that even today in mass conception hypnosis is synonymous with \"complete control of the mind\", if not superstition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fact, there are those who believe in it (as if it were a faith) and those who do not. This order of ideas has been circulating for centuries in popular culture until it crept into the various meanders of pop culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fever of hypnosis in the arts<\/strong>
\nThe fever of hypnosis with its dark references has infected every artistic expression: films, books, paintings, sculptures. Especially in the golden age of comics, the decade from the 1940s to the 1950s, hypnosis was a topic that was strong and attracted readers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hypnotist's cliche is that of someone who manipulates people's brains for his criminal projects. Equipped with the power to take total control of the mind of the poor unfortunate or the hero \/ heroine of the moment, in general it is anything but a figure, with widespread deformities and petty features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a 1940s New York, a couple of colleagues who detest each other during a party are hypnotized by means of a jade scorpion and the use of two words that contain a hidden command: \"Constantinople\" for him and \"Madagascar\" for her. Upon hearing the key word, the subject falls into a trance and robs the family jewels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this film the application of a very common technique in hypnotic practice is shown, often used keywords to deepen the trance (CD. Deepeners), activate automatic responses or anchor positive states or useful resources to the person.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

If the comics gradually went into decline, the filmography on the theme of hypnosis has continued to be very fertile and several films have followed one another to the present day. One of the latest films on the subject is Trance\", <\/em>By Danny Boyle, where hypnosis is used to solve a mystery related to a robbery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the films the series also arrived, today they are the most popular. One of all, The Mentalist<\/em> (which in this period is on TV on Top Crime<\/em>), who has depopulated for decades, created by Bruno Heller and focused on the character of a colleague (forgive the weakness for the category, we are human), a mentalist expert in hypnosis, profiling and non-verbal communication who collaborates with the FBI and unmasks even the most cunning criminals.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Can a criminal hypnosis be induced?<\/strong>
\nBut the question on everyone's lips is: \"In a state of hypnosis can they force me to suffer or do something against my will?\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The answer in the first lines of this article: the person remains conscious, that is, he realizes what is happening, but not alert, or the critical factor, is suspended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This means that I may be available to consider something that I would normally refuse. But one must be very fast, because at this point a further process is set up, which is that of conscience and personal ethics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If in hypnosis I am asked to give a 10 euro note to the first passerby, I would probably do it a first and a second time observing it, but in a very short time there would be a sort of autocheck of how acceptable or not for the my integrity and my unconscious would make me immediately return to alert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Basically in hypnosis no one but ourselves can force us to do something that we would not do even in a vigilant state. And if he succeeds, he must hurry because the reaction times are very fast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you watch carefully the filming of the notorious robberies at supermarkets using hypnosis, even the non-experts can notice all the different phases described above: the blocking of the victim, the amazement, the almost slowed down action and the swiftness of the swindler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hypnosis can only amplify or highlight what is already actually present in the person's unconscious: that is, it is not hypnosis that makes the criminal, it is the criminal who makes hypnosis. As if to say that if you are a thief you will also be in hypnosis, if you are not a thief you will not even be in a trance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In some extreme cases, however, there have been testimonies of events in which the person was at the mercy of the hypnotist, controlled, for example, by a powerful and complex manipulative suggestion that requires, in addition to professional skills, also bad intentions. For this reason, it is always recommended to turn to qualified and recognized professionals who can guarantee all the beauty of hypnosis in total safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
